Last week me & the boy were craving something a bit more hearty now that the winter chill has arrived. There’s nothing more homely than a cottage pie so we decided to go all out and spend our Sunday cooking.
Changes i made
The above recipe was for Shepherd’s Pie but the local shop only had beef so we just used that instead.
I didn’t feel like the recipe had enough worcestershire sauce, so i added more. My opinion is add to taste rather than sticking to the recipe.
I made half the recipe of the multi-mince as the recipe served 8!
Both recipeas don’t mention seasoning (unless i mis-read!) so don’t forget to season as the mince and the sauce can taste very bland if you’re not careful.
Nice recipes but i did find that if you follow the recipe step by step, the mince and the sauce can taste a little bland. If you’re not very good with flavouring or get frustrated when things taste too bland (like me) then please be aware of this and make sure you have seasoning and spices if you want to jazz it up a bit. I’ve made this before and added a little bit of tabasco sauce to give it a bit of a kick which, when balanced properly, gives the dish a bit more depth.
