Forget sandwiches, sushi is what I consistently crave on a weekday lunch. The delicate taste of fish and vegetables wrapped with sushi rice and seaweed, is always a winner in my eyes.
Tsuru is nestled between two large office blocks near Liverpool Street Station and unless you’re looking for Tsuru, you may not ever realise that it is there.
There isn’t just sushi available, you can order a curry, bento box, ramen or even burgers and new items are added frequently to keep regulars satisfied.
I stuck to what I was craving and decided to pick up some sushi that were beautifully presented and with a range of sushi boxes to pick, I was stuck for choice.
Since it was my first time at Tsuru, I finally decided on the Chef’s sushi box which contained salmon and tuna nigri, seared tuna sashimi, salmon skin inside-out rolls, tuna mayo inside-out rolls, salmon and avocado inside-out roll and a side salad. The fish itself was deliciously fresh, delicate and extremely filling, far out-weighing the quality usually found at sushi chains.
Tsuru was fresh and inspiring and serves a varied selection of products which I’m sure will keep many people happy. No sandwiches to see here, and for that I’m glad.
